About JNU

Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), located in New Delhi named after the India's first Prime Minister Mr. Jawaharlal Nehru. JNU is the premier institute for higher learning in the country established through an Act of Parliament in 1969.

JNU's main focus is to promote continuous academic and research activities in various academic disciplines. The objective behind the establishment of the institution was to have an educational body that strives to promote the study of principles of national integration, social justice, secularism, democratic way of life, international understanding, and scientific approach in solving the society's complex problems.
